Happy Paws!
Dogs who have found forever homes

Riley-- Adoption Pending
Male
5 years old
Will be neutered
Requires a lot of activity and outside time. He would be best suited on a farm or a large fenced in area where he can run a lot.
He is good with cats and children as well as other dogs. Loves going for walks in the wild and swimming. His favorite sport is Frisbee.
Jax -- adopted!
He is a husky/shepherd mix (possibly also Collie). He will be 4 on October 5. Jax was neutered at 6 months old and is up-to-date with vaccines. He weighs 58 lbs and has been fed Fromm food since he was a puppy.
Dog trainer Kendra Mackinnon from Zenful has worked with Jax and is willing to help through the process if he needs help with the transition into a new home.
Jax has had a bite history with his dad and another male family member. He is reactive out of fear and can snap. He has never done this to children or other dogs. Jax has seen Kendra about this and this is why she is willing to help in the re-homing process.
Jax needs calm and patient parents who have experience with training/working with dogs because of this. Don't be discouraged, Jax is a very sweet loving boy who has had a rough start (taken away very young from mother) and lacks confidence which causes him to be fearful sometimes.

Chester
He is a 10 year old dachshund mix (about the height of a Jack Russell) with no health issues. This cutie would be best off in a calm home without children as he is very anxious and barks a lot.
Chester can be very affectionate and likes to snuggle under a blanket. He can run for miles and has a lot of energy. He needs to go for a lot of walks or to run free outside. Chester loves playing fetch and is quite good at it.
However, he seems to have issues with strangers and tends to bark at them quite aggressively and frequently.
He doesn't live with cats, but he doesn't seem to care much about them when he see them outside

GIZMO -- ADOPTED!!
Male
D.O.B. Approx. 2007
Neutered
Heartguard, flea prevention, vaccinations: UTD, microchipped
Groomed / nails trimmed: Feb. 2017
Gizmo is a 10 year old Shih Tzu who has lived with the same family for his whole life. He was a little lost at first but has adjusted to his foster family's routine. Gizmo is a very talkative Shih Tzu. He talks when he wants something and he talks when he plays. He can be a bit mouthy but it's all in good fun. He does not enjoy being groomed so he will need a groomer with a firm hand.
Gizmo is currently being followed by a vet to determine if he has allergies. His first dose of antihistamines meds are included with the adoption.

PRINCESS -- adopted!!!
Female
10+ years
Spayed
Heartguard, flea prevention, vaccinations: UTD
Groomed / nails trimmed: Feb 2017
Princess is a senior Yorkie who has been shuffled around from home to home and has become very insecure as a result. Her last home had a Shih Tzu of the same age, who she depended on for her confidence even though he tended to express his dominance whenever he got too worked up. Princess only has four teeth left so when she tries to defend herself and tell him off, she isn't very menacing. Her foster feels that once the Shih Tzu is re-homed, Princess' confidence may start to increase. Her foster already sees it when the Shih Tzu is not around or busy with something else.
Princess is a very affectionate girl. She just wants to be loved. She is a little on the heavy side but is working on that and hopes to continue to do so in her forever home. She is pretty good with being house-trained because she goes on a schedule with the other dogs; however, she will have an accident if you don't read the cues. She is crate trained in the sense that she sleeps in it overnight and eats her meals in it so that the others don't steal it, but she does not like being in it longer than necessary. She will bark to let you know that she has had enough. She is a very easy girl to get along with and does not require much. She likes to snuggle and mostly sleeps in her bed when she is not playing and rolling in the snow outside.
