About Us

Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm is a vegan inspired rescue based in Eastern Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to assist animals that have been rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment.

We are currently focusing on spaying and neutering stray and feral cats, and can no longer take in animals to foster.

Please note that we are not able to respond to emergencies. Call a vet.

Our Story

Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm was founded in 2013 by Angela Dawn Parker. Angie named the rescue after her cats Roy and Cher, whom she adopted from the OSPCA in 2009. In 2017, Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm became a Canadian registered charity. Since its foundation, the rescue has assisted more than 1000 animals!

Our Team

Roy and Cher’s is governed by a six-member board of directors. We are so lucky to have a wonderful team of volunteers passionate about animals. Volunteers help out in many roles, including fostering, fundraising, promotions, animal care, and vet runs. Thanks to Canada’s Summer Job program, we are able to employ youth every summer. Vegan Inspired

Our rescue is vegan inspired. Veganism is a “practical philosophy” in which one does not ​harm or exploit animals and also works towards ending harm and exploitation. This means that ​at Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm, we practice patience and compassion for all the animals we assist. Assisting Animals

Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm assists neglected, abused and abandoned animals. We take in cats, dogs, horses, "farm animals", etc. If you have an animal that you can no longer care for, you can reach out to us to see how we can help.

We also have a Spay & Neuter Program.  If you would like to have a stray or feral cat(s) spayed or neutered, you can message us to be added to our waiting list.

Animals Available for Adoption

We assist a variety of abused, neglected or abandoned animals. Once they are ready to go to their forever homes, they are added to our website. Take a look at our Animals Available for Adoption to see if you find your perfect match!

Barns Needed

We are looking for barns who would like to adopt a pair of cats or a feral colony. All cats are healthy, spayed, neutered and vaccinated. Adoption donations are waived for feral cat relocations. Please email us to apply!

Donate

Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm assists a variety of animals. We take care of them from the moment they are surrendered to us until they are adopted. To continue to do so, we need your help! We rely on fundraising and donations from the public. By donating, you are helping us to purchase food and essential items, cover veterinarian bills, and so much more.

All potential adopters must fill out an application to be eligible. Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm interviews all applications and conducts home visits. We want to ensure that a new home is a forever loving home. We do not adopt out to those who intend to declaw.

Roy and Cher's Rescue Farm does not use the term "pet" as it implies control, ownership and objectification of a non-human animal. We use the terms animal companion or companion animal instead.
